MY GARDENING EFFORTS

I live on 6.5 acres which gives me lots of space to garden, if I have time. I have lots of pictures, but here is a start.

In 2020 I purchased and moved into the house next to the property at which I have lived for more than 30 years. I have lots of plans, but it is taking me some time. The first three pictures were taken in September of 2023, but I got a rather late start in building their flower garden. I hope the flowers will still give the bees and butterflies some nectar and pollen this year.

Lemon Queen Sunflowers are supposed to be a good source of nectar for honey bees. Here you can see one on the bloom in rhe lower left-hand corner.

2018 Zinnias

MY 2018 CROP OF ZINNIAS

At the entrance to the driveway to my original home, I have a planter in which I have been planting Zinnias for the last several years. The pollinators and gold finches love them - nectar for the pollinators and seeds for the gold finches. They are beautiful when there has been plenty of rain. Unfortunately, in 2018 we had a rather dry June and July, and they did not stay this pretty. Then in 2019 we had too much rain and the Zinnias were not near as pretty. Then in 2023 we have had drought or near-dought conditions and my Zinnias were horrible!
