JESSE NOLAND

Jesse Noland was very prominent in Kentucky. Having a lot of land and slaves, he was very wealthy. Parts of his holdings are now the cities of Irvine and Ravena, Kentucky. He was, also, a member of the Kentucky Assembly. Irvine is the present county seat for Estill County and has a population of about 3,000.

Jesse, like his brothers, James and Ledstone, served in the Revolutionary War and was awarded a pension for his service. He never came to Jackson County, Missouri, although his son Smallwood Turner Noland did.
